چکیده
Background: The increase of antimicrobial resistance and the scarcity new broad-spectrum antibiotics is a major challenge. Antibiotic cycling one tactic that increases antibiotic homogeneity to greatest extent possible can aid in controlling pattern, but this approach has not undergone thorough evaluation. study’s objective was examine effects an strategy on susceptibility profile by avoiding alternately using beta lactam/beta lactamase inhibitors over period many years. Methods: During four-year trial period, from January 2018 December 2021, protocol applied for indoor patients. Piperacillin/tazobactam cefoperazone/sulbactam were rotated withheld full year. Using hospital’s antibiogram as guide, chosen cycling. Data obtained positive clinical cultures used preparing antibiogram. Results: general most prevalent species remained stable or showed minor sensitivity. While piperacillin/tazobactam failed statistical significance, indicated 4% with shift left minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC). Conclusions: controversial idea, yet it be successful technique achieve either stability continuous decrease antibiotic. Additionally, meaningful outcomes, selected length must accordance

متن کاملAntimicrobial Resistance Pattern of Stenotrophomonas maltophilia Isolates from a Tertiary Care Setting in Rawalpindi, Pakistan
Introduction: Stenotrophomonas maltophilia is intrinsically resistant to many antimicrobials. Like Pseudomonas spp., this bacterium has a remarkable ability to cause infections, particularly in the respiratory and urinary tracts. This study aims to determine the antimicrobial resistance pattern of S. maltophilia isolates collected from a tertiary care setting and frequency of multi, extensively...

متن کاملThe Clinical Spectrum of Plumbism; an Experience from a Tertiary Care Hospital in Karachi, Pakistan
Background:Lead toxicity continues to remain a concerning health problem for developing nations like Pakistan. Due to the lack of studies, we aim to highlight the clinical spectrum of lead poisoning in patients presenting to an urban-based tertiary care hospital in Pakistan. Method:This is a retrospective review of patients admitted form January 2011 to December 2014 using a structured question...
